EAST WENATCHEE — There’s a new top dog in the Youth Hornets division at the Wenatchee Valley’s Super Oval.
Cody Vickrey set a track record with a fast time of 16.577 seconds Saturday, and he went on to win the main race at the East Wenatchee oval.
After a year of dominance by Stephanie Evans, who has since moved on to the Northwest Modifieds, Vickrey (1,094 points) leads Shasten Gurnard (1,046 points) in the Youth Hornets points race.
In other local classes Saturday, Ardala Donithan won the Pure Stocks main, and Allen Braley took the checkered flag in Bump-2-Pass.
Donithan (1,037 points) trails Cameron Bruggman (1,103 points), who finished third Saturday, for the the Pure Stocks season lead.
Despite his win, Braley (206 points) is ranked seventh in the Bump-2-Pass standings. Randy Adams leads with 730 points.
In touring classes, Jerry Buell was victorious in the NW Pro4 Trucks, and Mitch Hoffsess was the winner in the WMRA Midgets.
