EAST WENATCHEE — Shane Mitchell won the main events in both the ARCA West Late Models and the NW Modifieds on Saturday under sunny skies at Wenatchee Valley’s Super Oval.
Mitchell, from East Wenatchee, drove his No. 99 cars to the pair of victories, the first of which was done in record time.
Mitchell’s qualifying lap time of 12.512 in the NW Modifieds was a record for the quarter-mile track.
He then held off Ron Eaton in the 115-lap Late Model race to cap a banner evening.
The NW Mods are in the midst of a five-race mini-series at the Super Oval, and the Late Models made their first appearance at the track on Saturday.
Elsewhere on the track, Randy Adams captured the checkered flag in the Bump-2-Pass main event and Josh Childress picked up his first Thunder Cars victory of the young season.
