EAST WENATCHEE — It was a record-setting night at Wenatchee Valley’s Super Oval, as track marks fell in four of the five classes running on the quarter-mile track.
Cody Vickrey (Youth Hornets), Armand Franzen (Pure Stocks), Justin Childress (NW Outlaw Compacts) and Gary Smith (WESCO Sprint Cars) all set records in qualifying laps.
Two of those drivers — Childress and Vickrey — went on to win the main events of their respective classes later in the evening.
Cameron Bruggman took the checkered flag in the Pure Stocks main event, Fred Berger capture the Bump-2-Pass final and aptly named Rich Fast took home the win among WESCO Sprint Cars.
The points standings are starting to come into focus after a few weeks of racing.
One battle worth watching is in Bump-2-Pass, where Randy Adams and George Casey are tied atop the standings with 572 points apiece.
Next Saturday, the Late Models, WMRA Midgets, NW Pro4 trucks and NW Legends will be in action. Racing starts at 6 p.m.
