WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee Valley masters swim team finished second at the Lake City Masters Swim Meet on March 5, and a number of Wenatchee swimmers claimed first-place finishes and set new Inland Northwest records.
Peony Munger won five events in the 75-79 age group, setting five records in the process.
Other multiple winners included James Adams (30-34, five wins, four records) Shirley Schreiber (60-64, four wins, four records), Jane Haase (75-79, four wins, three records), Wayne Brown (65-69, five wins, three records), Carolyn Magee (65-69, three wins, three records), Pat Magee (70-74, three wins), Jack Bevier (75-79, five wins, two records).
Wenatchee relay teams also set four Inland Northwest records and one Zone record.
The Wenatchee Racquet and Athletic Club recently held its annual Spring Fling tournament.
Rich Carver of Spokane won the Men’s Open Singles division, and teamed with Todd Gibson, also of Spokane, to win the Men’s Open Doubles title. Ryan Schwinkendorf and Brad Summers of the WRAC were second in Men’s Open Doubles.
Debi Di Tommaso of the WRAC won Women’s Open Singles.
Rob Fitch (WRAC) won Men’s A Singles and Darren Heer (Teoka) won Men’s B Singles.
Tom Martinez and Charlie Alaniz (Moses Lake) won Men’s B Doubles, and Denny Snyder and Doug Merrill (WRAC) won Men’s C Doubles. In Mixed Open Doubles, Brad Russell and Heidi Gomez (Richland) were victorious, while Tony and Jessi Sauceda (WRAC) won Mixed B/C Doubles.
Joshua Gibson (Spokane) was first in Co-Ed C/Novice Singles, and Triston Ploch (WRAC) won Junior Singles.
