The skinny: Lund will be counted on to do a lot this season. She is the defending CWAC batting champion (.655 as a junior. She also posted a 2.33 ERA.

Dark horse: Waterville (North). Manson (South)
The skinny: Kittitas won the league title in 2010 and advanced to the 2B state tournament and enters this year as the undisputed favorite to win the revamped South Division. The Coyotes have last year’s league Most Valuable Player in Maupin.
The North Division figures to be much more balanced, but Brewster will start the season as the slight favorite. Pateros, newcomer Lake Roosevelt and Oroville, which advanced to the 2B state tournament last year but is rebuilding after losing seven seniors, have title hopes as well. Liberty Bell should also challenge for a playoff spot.
