MOSES LAKE — The Washington State Patrol says a driver suspected of possessing drugs died in a crash as he was being chased by a trooper and Grant County deputies near Moses Lake.
The patrol says 40-year-old David Folden of Warden was initially stopped Tuesday night for a seat belt violation. He sped off when the trooper smelled marijuana and tried to arrest him.
Folden’s car slid off a wet road at an intersection and hit a concrete irrigation structure. Officers and an aid crew performed CPR but he died at the scene. Officers found a bag that apparently contained drugs in his mouth.
