Tate Mathison, co-owner and domestic sales manager of Stemilt Growers in Wenatchee, and Brian Vertrees, Stemilt’s product marketing manager, were chosen as distinguished Pacific Lutheran University School of Business Alumni at the school’s 50th anniversary dinner.
Bert Langshaw, owner of AmeriSpec Inspection Services in Moses Lake, was selected for the company’s 2011 Presidential Achievement Award for top-performing franchise owners at their International Franchise Convention in Tucson, Ariz.
New jobs, new faces
Julie Lindholm and Heidi Bohall joined 501 Consultants, a management consulting firm in Cashmere. Lindholm will serve as special projects director and Bohall as events coordinator.
Sharon Shaw, owner of Sassy’s Diner in Wenatchee, joined John L. Scott Wenatchee as a realtor.
The Historic Downtown Chelan Association elected new officers for the 2010-2011 Board of Directors. They are: Nick Pascoe of Bear Foods as president, Larry Day of Coldwell Banker Lake Chelan Properties as vice president, Jean Ashby of Whaley’s General Store as secretary and Ray Dobbs of Dobbs LLC as treasurer. The association also announced this year’s committee chairs. They are: Terrie Holm-Nielson of Columbia Furniture for the design committee, Barb Wadkins of Lake Chelan Sports for the organization committee, Ashby for the promotion committee and Teresa Farrell of Bear Foods for economic restructuring.

Rich Watson, the executive director of the NCW Business Loan Fund, will serve on the Credit Providers Advisory Committee for the State of Washington Small Business Credit Initiative Program.

Jace Miller, Steve Schindele, Kevin Rimes and Steve Westerberg, all mortgage loan originators with Taylor Mortgage in East Wenatchee, have passed their state and national test under the new federal SAFE Act for mortgage loan originators.
Judy Black Schmidt, a registered nurse practitioner with Wenatchee Valley Medical Center’s OB/GYN department, completed the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology’s study course, a mentorship training and an exam for the Colposcopy Mentorship Program.
Orondo Dollars for Scholars Board members Rose Auvil, Shirley Auvil and Gail DeGrave attended the Northwest Dollars for Scholars conference at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma. Topics covered included improving post-secondary student retention and renewable scholarships.
Jody Campbell, senior real estate specialist with Laura Mounter Real Estate in Wenatchee, hosted a senior seminar at the Wenatchee Valley Senior Center. Topics covered included reverse mortgages and investments for senior citizens.
John McQuaig, CEO and founder of McQuaig and Welk in Wenatchee, founder and chairman of the board of North Cascades National Bank in Chelan, and owner of the IT support and software company Key Methods in Wenatchee, earned an MBA from the Ken Blanchard Executive MBA program at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix. McQuaig was co-valedictorian of his class.
