Laurie Mooney, incoming president of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors of North Central Washington, and Kathy Z. Smithson, the organization’s national committee chair and immediate past president of the state association, attended the organization’s state convention in Ocean Shores. Topics covered included bills before the Legislature that could affect the insurance industry.
Diana Haglund, Jennifer Dolge, Tammy Moad and Margaret Badgley, all with Central Washington University-Wenatchee, hosted the National Association of Branch Campus Administrators conference in Seattle. Badgley was also recently named the assistant vice president for university centers. She oversees six university centers and three teaching sites statewide.
Nurse Practitioner Lynn Chadd, owner of Lynn Chadd Natural Healthcare in Peshastin, and her registered nurse Lori Zellner, attended the annual Nutrition and Health Conference in San Francisco, hosted by the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine.
Michael Thresher of River Street Photography in Cashmere earned the Certified Professional Photographer designation from the Professional Photographic Certification Commission.
Dr. Rob Merrill and Dr. Tom Merrill, orthodontists with Merrill Orthodontics in East Wenatchee, attended the annual session of the American Association of Orthodontists in Chicago. Each completed continuing education in accelerated orthodontic procedures.
Marla Krueger, a licensed massage practitioner at Therapy Works in East Wenatchee, attended the Washington State Massage convention in Tacoma, and completed classes in manipulation, neck pain and headaches, back pain, and stretching. Krueger also has recently completed a course in massage and cancer care.
