Elaine Harris France
December 28, 1922 ~ August 23, 2011
Elaine Harris France, 88, passed away August 23, 2011. She was born Inez Elaine Stadheim on December 28, 1922, to Anna and Ivar Stadheim in Grand Forks, ND. When Elaine was four days old, her mother passed away due to complications of childbirth. Elaine's father, unable to raise mom by himself, placed her in several homes, her favorite being the Vavrina family, where she was raised as one of their own, with their daughter, Malotta, until graduating from high school. Elaine married Willis "Bill" Harris on October 24, 1940. They had many enjoyable years together, enjoying bowling, card parties and many boating trips to the San Juan Islands. Together they had five children, Noel, Myrna, David, Dale and Terry; ten grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Elaine had several jobs, her favorite being Secretary for First United Methodist of Wenatchee. Elaine's first husband, Bill, passed in 1999. After Bill's passing, she married Vernon Dale France and enjoyed many get-togethers with his family for nearly ten years. After Vernon's passing, Mom moved to Colonial Vista Assisted Living.
Elaine was preceded in death by her father and mother, Ivar and Anna Stadheim; son, Noel Harris; grandson, Leslie Joe Blaylock; and husbands, Willis Harris and Vernon France.
Her family wishes to thank N.C.W. Hospital, Hospice and Colonial Vista Assisted Living staff for the excellent care she received. Everyone loved Elaine and she will be missed by her family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 941 Washington Street, Wenatchee on Saturday, September 10, 2011, at 11:00 a.m.
