LEAVENWORTH — One male and one female climber were evacuated from a climbing route about a half mile west of Leavenworth in Tumwater Canyon about noon Friday.
Both were injured after they fell from the rock, said John Wisemore, chief of operations for the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office.
They were climbing on the north side of Highway 2. Both are being transported to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee.
The condition of the climbers was not known about 12:40 p.m.
We’ll post more details as we get them.
