Ruth I. Johnson

Ruth I. Johnson, 96 years old, a 43 year resident of Twisp, WA and presently living at Brewster, WA, died Thursday, November 29, 2012. She was born December 14, 1915, at Turtle Rock, WI, the daughter of Albert and Inga (Tuftin) Hollerud. After spending her early years there, she was married to C.L. 'Dick' Johnson. They later resided in Minnesota until 1946, when they moved to Pateros, WA. They then moved to Twisp in 1960, and Mr. Johnson preceded her in death in 1977. Since 2003, she had resided at Harmony House Care Center. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and the Rebekahs.

Survivors include two daughters, Alberta Chapman of Brewster and Charlene Linzy of Rochester, WA; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Linda Harrison.

A Tribute Service will take place Friday, December 7, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Methow Valley United Methodist Church, with Pastor Mike Lawson officiating. Committal Services and Interment will follow at Sullivan Cemetery in Winthrop, WA. Services have been entrusted to Barnes Chapel, Brewster.
