Debris from a semitrailer litters Highway 2/97 between Cashmere and Monitor after the rig crashed about 6:30 a.m. today. Washington State Patrol Vehicle Enforcement Officer Tim Pearson looks over the damage.

MONITOR — Icy conditions contributed to two accidents on Highway 2/97 this morning between Cashmere and Monitor, State Patrol troopers say.

No one was injured in the accidents that happened about the same time, said Trooper Darren Wright.

Few details were available this morning but, Wright said, it appeared that a Ford Explorer spun out on ice and struck a semitrailier. A short time later, another car struck debris from the accident which was in the roadway, and that caused a second non-injury accident.

The highway was partly blocked for some time this morning.
