Ecology, Army Corps investigate oil spill
Wednesday, December 5, 2012
SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — The Washington state Department of Ecology and the Army Corps of Engineers are investigating the source of an oil spill on the Snake River near Lower Granite Dam in southeast Washington.
Ecology officials said in a statement Wednesday that the spill is estimated at less than 10 gallons.
The Army Corps of Engineers reported the oil sheen on Tuesday. Absorbent booms were deployed above and below the fish ladder at the dam, which Ecology says has been ruled out as the possible source of the spill.
