FFA students earn awards at career development event

NCW — Twelve teams from seven North Central Washington FFA chapters recently competed in the 2012 edition of the District VII Apple Evaluation Career Development Event in Manson this month.
Lupe Villasenor of the Chelan Falls Allstars FFA earned first place overall and was awarded a $500 cash award from the Chelan FFA alumni.
Other top-placing individuals were Jake Straub of Chelan Falls Allstars, second; Apolinar Blanco of Chelan Falls Allstars, third; Jarred Mahon of Wenatchee 1, fourth; Heather Powell of Cashmere 1, fifth; Taylor Bostwick of Cashmere 1, sixth; Bryan McNair of Cashmere 1, seventh; Lindsey Brownfield of Chelan Falls Allstars, eighth; Adam Grubb of Wenatchee 1, ninth; and Emma Hagen of Cashmere 2, 10th.
In the team competition, the Chelan Falls Allstars team, with Villasenor, Straub, Blanco and Brownfield, earned first place.
Other top-placing teams were Cashmere 1, second; Wenatchee 1, third; Cashmere 2, fourth; Chelan 2, fifth; Pateros, sixth; Tonasket 1, seventh; Bridgeport 2, eighth; Bridgeport 3, ninth; and Manson, 10th.
All competitors will proceed to the state FFA Apple career development event in Yakima.
