WENATCHEE — A 79-year-old man walking home with groceries was seriously injured when he was struck by a car on Springwater Avenue Tuesday afternoon.
Gordon James was in serious condition this morning at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, according to a hospital spokeswoman. James was not in a crosswalk when he crossed in the 1500 block of Springwater about 3:45 p.m., said Sgt. John Kruse with the Wenatchee Police Department. James was apparently walking home with groceries from Albertson’s, Kruse said.
The driver of the Nissan Maxima was not cited, Kruse said.
