Car prowl items recovered; two arrested
Friday, December 7, 2012
EAST WENATCHEE — Items stolen in car prowls Sunday night near the 3900 block of Northwest Cascade Street are available for owners to claim.
The items include an iPod, phone chargers, a cell phone, a cigarette lighter and a knife, said Douglas County Undersheriff Don Culp. The car prowls were discovered after an Eastside man, who heard a noise by his vehicle, went out to investigate and found that the car had been ransacked. He drove around, looking for suspects and saw two juveniles walking through a nearby field about 11:37 p.m. He called deputies, who found two juveniles, ages 15 and 17, lying down in the field. They were in possession of some items stolen in car prowls and were arrested on suspicion of vehicle prowling.
Culp said the boys told deputies that they had prowled five to 10 vehicles. He said anyone in the Cascade Street area who had vehicles prowled Sunday night should call the Sheriff’s Office at 884-0941.
