Power fix expected around 11 a.m. at Lake Wenatchee
Friday, December 7, 2012
LAKE WENATCHEE — Chelan County PUD crews are working to restore electricity to 600 customers in the Lake Wenatchee area who went dark around 6:45 a.m. after snow-laden tree branches fell into powerlines.
PUD spokeswoman Kimberlee Craig said the lights will likely be out until around 11 a.m.
One of the branches hit powerlines near Highway 207 and Brown Road. Another is the suspected cause of light-flickering problems reported on Chiwawa Loop Road.
Crews were patrolling the lines this morning to spot problems, she said.
More outages and related problems are expected, Craig said, as the morning’s wet, heavy snow storm passes the region.
Report power problems to the PUD toll-free at 877-783-8123.
