Wenatchee

Get tickets early as Mela pulls out all the stops for Motopony, a Seattle band that’s getting national attention. Their single “King of Diamonds” was a radio hit last year, and they recently wrapped up their first major national tour. Also on the bill, surprise guest Noah Gundersen and Hot Bodies in Motion — a Seattle dance band that will liven up the place with a danceable beat and vintage soul. Premium admission, $50, includes appetizers and a champagne toast.

Classic rock band The Chargers rings in a new year with nostalgic tunes, party favors and a champagne toast. After midnight, the Eagles Hall will whip up breakfast, a great way to start 2013.

Local brews, rock and blues is on tap at Columbia Valley Brewing. The brewery will offer quite a spread of appetizers and microbrews, including five home brews and five guest taps.

Dance the night away with a spectacular light show and sound system by DJ Kenaston. Cascade funk band Mugsy’s Groove brings the live music. Ring in 2013 with party favors and a champagne toast at midnight.

Dress to impress for a glam dance party at the new Club Level, located in the old Hurricane Lounge space. The club booked three DJs to keep the dance floor busy. Stick around for all-night drink specials, party favors and a money drop at midnight.

Multi-instrumentalist Joe DeChenne will weave original songs live on stage with a mix of drums, keyboards and guitar. The Wenatchee musician toured with the Michael Dickes Band and recently launched a solo music career. The night wraps up at 10, giving you time to check out some of the other New Year’s parties around town.

Th-th-the water’s fine at Lake Wenatchee’s annual Polar Bear Dip, hosted by cold-water legend Jim Sofie. For everyone who jumps, the Squirrel Tree Restaurant will serve a hot bowl of chili after the dip. Check road conditions. Show up early for a parking spot, which requires a Discover Pass or $10 daily pass.

New Year’s Eve gets fancy at Sorrento’s Ristorante, with a three-course dinner, dessert, wine pairing and light hors d’oeuvres. Highlights include Oyster Rockefeller, wild mushroom ravioli, lobster and creme brulee. Call ahead for reservations.

It’s the only New Year’s Eve party happening Saturday. Campbell’s hosts a “Mad Men” theme bash with retro drinks, appetizers and the Design Band. Call the resort for special room rates.
