William Cadman Botts

Fircrest, WA

William Cadman Botts was born on October 23, 1930, in Wenatchee, WA and passed away on February 7, 2012. Bill was proudly married to his wife of 60 years, Marilyn and together they settled in Fircrest in 1955, following his service in the United States Army - having served overseas in the Korean Conflict and subsequently graduating from the University of Puget Sound upon his return. Shortly thereafter, Bill began what became a 34-year career as a Contracts Administrator at the Boeing Co. Retirement provided Bill and Marilyn the opportunity to "winter" in Hemet, CA for ten years, where they met new friends and enjoyed both the weather and their cocker spaniels. Ever the meticulous perfectionist, Bill was a skilled and avid woodworker and expertly built everything from boats to furniture, enjoyed listening to organ music and playing one of their own, took great delight in his days boating and fishing, and developed a genuine affinity for gospel music and model boat building in his later years.

Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Suzanne (Mark) Baier; and is survived by his wife, Marilyn; son, Rocky (Debbie) of San Francisco; daughter, Christi (Tim) Johnson of Tacoma; six grandchildren, Lindsey Baier of Seattle, Lauren and Erica Johnson, both of Tacoma and Casey, Emily and Jake Botts, all of San Francisco.

A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held at Fircrest Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1001 Princeton Street, Fircrest, WA 98466, on Thursday, February 16, 2012, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow. Donations may be made to Pierce County Humane Society or Fircrest Redeemer Lutheran Church.
