WENATCHEE — The Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest is seeking members to fill vacancies on two advisory committees, including one that offers advice for management of national forest land in Chelan County and the Methow Valley.
Applications are sought for people to represent fish, environmental groups, the forest products industry, forest conservation and mining.
Committee members are asked to serve a two-year term.
Applicants must be 18 years old, and consideration will be given to the applicant’s knowledge of local and regional resource issues and willingness to serve. Meetings are held every two to three months, usually for a full day in Wenatchee.
Committee members are given mileage expenses, but are not paid. A background check is required.
Applications are available at the forest headquarters in Wenatchee, the Okanogan Valley office in Okanogan or any ranger station on the forest.
Those interested can submit an application by March 30 to Becki Heath, Designated Federal Official, 215 Melody Lane, Wenatchee, WA 98801. Letters of endorsement can be included.
