Barbara was born in Cottage Grove, OR to Francis and Ava (Young) Wicks on February 28, 1930. While growing up, she lived in several Oregon locations, including, Myrtle Point, where she attended grade school and Portland, where she graduated from Washington High School in 1948, and Molalla, where she met and later married Ray L. Toll on January 15, 1950. After marriage, she lived in Yakima, WA; McMinnville, OR, where son, Larry Michael was born December 27, 1950; Ephrata, WA, where daughter, Susan Irene was born on January 20, 1953; and Moses Lake, WA, where son, Craig Allen was born on September 8, 1954. In 1957, the family moved to Wenatchee, WA following her husband's career with the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. During her life, she was a devoted wife and a stay at home loving mother. She was active in Cub Scouts, Blue Birds, PTA and served on the Board of the YWCA. Together with friends, they conducted Estate Sales for many years as "The Garter Girls." She was very active for many years in the Order of Amaranth, serving as Royal Matron of Wenatchee Court 11 and in 1993, she was Grand Royal Matron of Amaranth for Washington, followed by many Amaranth Supreme Court offices. She was also a long time member of Eastern Star and of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE). As a young lady, she was Honored Queen of Jobs Daughters in Portland and later served on the board of Jobs Daughters in Wenatchee. She enjoyed reading, sewing and needlework, crafts, camping and travel in their travel trailer, spending many winters in Southern California and Arizona.

She is survived by her husband; son, Larry (Carmen) Toll of The Dalles, OR; daughter, Susan (Robert) Johnson of Manteca, CA; sister, Jean Evelyn (Glen) Olson of Coquille, OR; seven grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Pam Duck of Wenatchee. She was preceded in death by her mother and father and son, Craig Toll.
