YAKIMA — Paul Jagla scored a major decision over Eisenhower’s Dakota Kountz in the final bout of the match to give Wenatchee a 36-32 victory over the Cadets Thursday night.
It was a seesaw battle all evening, as Eisenhower won the first four bouts to take a 19-0 lead.
The Panthers fought back, getting three straight pins at the upper weights before 106-pounder Drake Lewis posted a victory in what coach Ed Valdez called the key match of the night.
“He was down 4-0 beginning the third period and won 7-5,” Valdez said. “He was wrestling that time to win the match for us. It was the difference.”
Chelan 57, Oroville 32
The Goats shot the ball well all night in a non-league victory over the Hornets at home.
Chelan’s Megan Robinson had 17 points to lead all scorers, and Abby Phelps and Darcy Austin tacked on 10 apiece.
Valley Christian 77, Mansfield 45
The Kernels (6-6, 2-3) could not contend with the Panthers’ height, and fell behind early in this league contest. Valley Christian started three players over 6-foot-3.
Cameron Peters (16 points) and Macen McLean (15) led the way offensively for Mansfield.
