Ski lessons will also begin on Saturday. Those wishing to take lessons can sign up at the hill, or on the ski area website, echovalley.org.
Carpenter said the lack of snow has made it an unusual year.
cut: “We have never opened this late” because of a lack of snow, she said.
This year’s late start won’t prevent Carpenter from enjoying the season, she said, adding, “Anything is better than nothing.”
