SPOKANE — A Soap Lake woman is in satisfactory condition at a Spokane trauma center today after a head-on collision in Highway 17 near Moses Lake on Friday evening.
Josephine E. Johnson, 73, was taken to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake and then transferred to Sacred Heart Medical Center after the 5:08 p.m. crash four miles north of Moses Lake.
Johnson was driving south when her Pontiac Grand Am crossed the centerline and struck a Ford Mustang traveling north and driven by George D. Waters, 43, of Soap Lake, a Washington State Patrol report said.
Waters was also taken to Samaritan Hospital, where he was treated and discharged on Sunday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, the report said.
