Shanon W. Love, 68, a lifetime resident of Omak, WA, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2012, at his home with family by his side. He was born on July 17, 1943, in Tucson, AZ to parents, Warren and Maxine (Bowe) Love. He grew up and attended schools in Omak, graduating from high school in 1961. In 1966, he married the love of his life, Bobbie McCracken, in Omak. Shanon worked for Al Gariano Painting during this time. Later, he worked for Alan Gann Construction for 23 years. In 1996, he started his own painting business with his son, Todd. He retired in 2008. Shanon loved working with his hands in his own shop, creating furniture and various projects for family and friends. He loved his family unconditionally and was always there when needed to lend a hand and make repairs. Everyone who knew him knows of his love for skiing and he spent many hours tuning and repairing the skis for family and his many friends. Shanon was on the Loup Loup Ski Patrol for 40 years and in 2009, was the first volunteer to receive the Ralph Parks Memorial Award for his service.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bobbie, at the family home; one son, Todd Love; and his mother, Maxine Love, both of Omak; one sister, Nancy (Jerry) Sparks of Snohomish; one brother, Kevin (Lynn) Love of Wenatchee; two nieces, Andrea Love of Seattle and Emily Love of Wenatchee; one nephew, Matt Skipper of Lynnwood; and numerous aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Warren; and one niece, Sarah Skipper.
A Private Family Gathering was held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 in Omak. A Public Celebration of his Life will be held in late spring at the Loup Loup Ski Hill, to be announced at a later date. The family requests memorial donations be made in Shanon's name to the Loup Loup Ski Education Foundation, P.O. Box 768, Okanogan, WA 98840 or a charity of your choice. Arrangements are by Precht-Harrison-Nearents Funeral Home.
