Harvest prizes in Apple art contest

WENATCHEE — More than $1,650 in prizes are up for grabs in the 18th Annual Year of the Apple Art Contest. The Washington Apple Education Association invites young artists, from kindergarten through grade 12, to draw or paint their favorite apples.

One grand prize winner will receive $750 and their artwork will be reproduced into a poster-sized calendar.

Six honorable mention winners will receive $150 each and $100 will be given to their school or a nonprofit organization to buy art supplies.

The deadline for submissions is Aug. 1. Entry forms are available at waef.org. For more information, call 663-7713.
