EAST WENATCHEE — Three records were left broken by the time the last checkered flag was waved Saturday at the Wenatchee Valley Super Oval races.
Nicole Behar took first place in the Baby Grands class and also earned her name on the short list of track records with a 14.243 seconds time stamp.
Doug McLees took first place in the Sprint Cars class A-Main race, the evening’s final event.
McLees had some ground to make up after placing seventh in the qualifying round and eighth in the heat race.
Josh Ingram set a new track record for the Thunder Cars class, pushing the time to 15.475. Ingram then took second in the trophy dash and seventh in the class’ A-Main race. Mike Sims took first place in the main.
Ingram, with 312 points so far this year, holds the number three position in the Thunder Cars class. Sims’ win helped push him up to the number six position with 194 points. Kevin Bull leads the class with 358 points.
Cody Vickrey took first place and set the new track record to 16.51 in the Pure Stock class. Vickrey now holds second place with 537 points. He trails only Alex Ludeman, who has 590 points and came in second in Saturday’s final race.
With new records and competition heating up, WVSO will host its fan appreciation night this Saturday. On the schedule is the Super Late Models, Bump-2-Pass Boat Races, Thunder Cars and Youth Hornets.
