WENATCHEE — Tickets to see Grammy Award-winning pop idol Kelly Clarkson sold out Monday, making the concert the fastest sellout in Town Toyota Center’s 3-year history.

“We sold every, single, possible seat we can,” said Jennifer Bushong, the arena’s marketing director. Tickets went on sale Monday at 10 a.m.

The box office sold 3,655 tickets of the arena’s total seating capacity of 4,100 seats, Bushong said.

That doesn’t include 220 seats that the Clarkson crew is holding as part of their agreement with the arena. Neither does it include seats that have no view of the stage, nor the free tickets that The World and local radio stations will give away before the April 13 show.

If the Clarkson crew decides to release some of its quota of seats, they will also be sold to the public, Bushong said.

“Sell outs” are determined by the seats available based on the location of the stage, she said. It can vary by event. So far, sell outs or near sell outs at the arena include some Wenatchee Wild hockey games, country singer Leann Rimes, the first Harlem Globetrotters and Mannheim Steamroller shows and Stars on Ice, Bushong said. Bushong said the arena expects to make money on the Clarkson show.

Clarkson surged to fame in 2002 by winning the inaugural season of American Idol. Over the past decade, she’s followed it with four more albums for total worldwide sales of 24 million albums and 39 million singles.
