Toasty Mother’s Day in the forecast

Thursday, May 10, 2012

Mom will need a tank top along with those dozen roses Sunday, as temperature are expected to climb to 88 degrees.

High temperatures will climb gradually through out the week toward Sunday’s high, said Jeff Cote, forecaster with the National Weather Service in Spokane.

Sunny skies and temperatures in the high 80s should continue through Tuesday before cooling to the 70s.

Cote says the pattern is typical of spring. Lows in the high 30s will warm to the low 50s by this weekend.

Temperatures in Okanogan County and higher elevations around the Wenatchee Valley are forecast to be about 5 degrees cooler.
