Four seek judgeship as candidates file for office

WENATCHEE — A four-way race has emerged for a rare open Chelan County Superior Court seat after candidate filing week ended Friday afternoon.

Alicia H. Nakata, Travis Brandt, Charles R. Steinberg, and Ruth Esparza are all vying for the seat that will be vacated by Judge John Bridges.

All four county commission seats in Chelan and Douglas counties that are up for reelecction are contested by at least two candidates, and three-term Douglas County Commissioner Ken Stanton has two challengers.

Both 12th District Representatives Mike Armstrong and Cary Condotta will face competition.

Here are the North Central Washington residents who filed for statewide offices and the candidates who are seeking public office in Chelan and Douglas counties:

Secretary of State: Karen Murray, Quincy.

12th District Senator: Linda Evans Parlette, Wenatchee.

12th District Representative, Pos. 1: Stan Morse, Chelan; Cary Condotta, Wenatchee.

12th District Representative, Pos. 2: Brad Hawkins, East Wenatchee; Mike Armstrong, Wenatchee.

Division 3 Court of Appeals, District 3: Teresa C. Kulik, Wenatchee; Devin Poulson, Wenatchee.

Chelan County

Assessor: DeWayne G. Crater, Wenatchee; Deanna Walter, Wenatchee.

County Commissioner District 1: Gary Schoessler, Malaga; Ron Walter, Wenatchee.

County Commissioner District 3: Mary Signorelli, Chelan; Doug England, Manson.

Superior Court Judge Pos. 1: Lesley A. Allan, Wenatchee.

Superior Court Judge Pos. 2: T.W. “Chip” Small, Wenatchee.

Superior Court Judge Pos. 3: Alicia H. Nakata, Wenatchee; Travis Brandt, Wenatchee; Charles R. Steinberg, Wenatchee; Ruth Esparza, Wenatchee.
