Chelan County Assessor: Walter posts decisive win
Tuesday, November 6, 2012
WENATCHEE Deanna Walter cruised to an easy victory in the race for Chelan County Assessor with 75.8 percent of votes cast in her favor over challenger DeWayne Crater.
Walter, of Wenatchee, was appointed assessor last year after former assessor Vicki Trudell was forced to leave office for not being a legal Chelan County resident. Walter had previously worked as chief deputy appraiser in the office since 2009 and has 17 years of land-use experience for the county and in the private sector.
Crater, of Wenatchee, is a former appraiser for the Assessor's Office and currently a financial accountant for Chelan County Public Works.
