CHENEY, Wash. (AP) — Vernon Adams' 9-yard touchdown run with 8:13 to play capped a second-half rally, and Eastern Washington blocked a late field-goal attempt Saturday to beat UC Davis 31-28 and move into a first-place tie in the Big Sky Conference. Adams' score came after Kyle Padron hit Greg Herd for a 51-yard touchdown to pull the Eagles (8-2, 6-1) within 28-24. Later, UC Davis lined up to attempt a game-tying 52-yard field goal with 44 seconds left, but David Gaylord blocked it to seal the win.
