Mandatory meeting set for royalty candidates
Wednesday, November 14, 2012
WENATCHEE — Mandatory meetings for prospective 2013 Apple Blossom Festival royalty candidates will be Nov. 28 at noon, 4 and 6 p.m. at the Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 127 S. Mission St.
High school senior girls interested in being in the royalty court must attend one of the meetings. At least one parent or guardian must also attend one of the meetings, but not necessarily the same meeting attended by the student.
Candidates must be seniors in the Wenatchee or Eastmont school districts — including home school, private school, Running Start and WestSide High School students — and have attended school in the district their sophomore and junior years with at least a 2.75 grade-point average on their June 2012 official transcript.
The 2013 festival queen and two princesses will be selected at the Washington Trust Royalty Selection Pageant Feb. 9 at the Wenatchee High School Auditorium. Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. January 10. The queen will receive a $6,000 scholarship and the princesses a $3,500 scholarship.
For more information, call the Apple Blossom Festival office at 662-3616 or visit appleblossom.org.
