SOAP LAKE — The woman who died in a Soap Lake apartment fire on Wednesday has been identified as Susan M. Wilson, 61, of Soap Lake.
Craig Morrison, Grant County coroner, said she died of asphyxia from smoke inhalation.
The fire burned a four-plex at 318 Sixth Ave. Mayor Raymond Gravelle said at least three fourths of the complex was destroyed. The roof caved in over two of the units.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
A press release from the city of Soap Lake states that donations for families displaced by the fire should be sent to the Soap Lake Assembly of God or to the Soap Lake Food Bank. The Apple Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross also sent a team of volunteers to help fire victims.
