LEAVENWORTH — A new chamber ensemble formed at the Icicle Creek Center for the Arts. The Icicle Creek Chamber Players will debut their six-concert season Oct. 7.

The center’s artistic director and star pianist, Oksana Ezhokina, will lead the new group.

Also in the ensemble: Sean Osborn, clarinet; Maria Sampen, violin; Timothy Christie, viola; Jennifer Rhyne, flute; Melissa Plagemann, voice; Jennifer Caine, violin and Sally Singer, cello.

The idea behind the group is to support each others’ work through feature concerts, grant writing, sponsorship and by providing residency space for composition, teaching and rehearsals at Icicle Creek Center for the Arts.

“An exciting aspect of this concept is that it creates a fluid group, allowing for unusual and intriguing artistic combinations and room for special guest artists, commissions, premieres and special projects,” Ezhokina said.

The upcoming season features several guests musicians as well, including harpist Catherine Barrett and pianists Christina Dahl, Jody Graves and Madeline Slettedahl.
