WENATCHEE — American Idol winner and platinum-selling country star Scotty McCreery will perform Nov. 8 at Town Toyota Center, arena management announced Thursday.

The 19-year-old crooner, who’s sold over 1 million albums, will take the stage after a local opening act to be announced in the next month.

Tickets for the concert go on sale at 1 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Town Toyota Center box office, 1300 Walla Walla Avenue.

McCreery topped all challengers in the 2011 American Idol television competition, and went on to release his debut album “Clear As Day” and gain a No. 1 ranking on Billboard’s list of that year’s top new country artists. He’s been touring this year with country mega-star Brad Paisley in the Virtual Reality Tour 2012, but will appear solo on the Wenatchee stage.

For ticket information, call Town Toyota Center at 667-7847.

Sad, sad, sad. Winners of American Idol represent the RACE TO THE BOTTOM when it comes to the state of new music. McCreery offers up only the same old same old. Nothing new, and for the most part just a regurgitation of what has come before. And they will fill the place and they will continue to listen to the crap that corporate radio spoon feeds them. Awful. He is just one step above Karaoke. Enjoy!

Regardless of your opinion on his talent, let's give him a warm Wenatchee welcome. If you watched last season, you would know he is a polite and respectful young man. The kids in our valley need more healthy entertainment, so let's encourage that any way we can.

he has two records the second aptly named "please remember me". I guess some miss the county fair circut and end up in 3rd rate arenas in hicksville usa right away.

Joe, you are still crying the blues about the TTC, I realize Wenatchee has done some goofy things, but I dont think its Hicksville. And I really dont think its a 3rd rate arena, it seems to be very functional, that is just your opinion. Did you read the article? hes been youring with Brad Paisley and probably has a layover in Seattle , or Spokane or Portland so decided to do a Wenatchee concert, sure nothing wrong with that is there? Im not a country and western fan, nor do I watch american Idol, and I dont even live in Wenatchee, but I can give the kid a break. Most all of us on here know how you feel about the passing of the Tax issues and the TTC, cant you just finallly let it go?

Joe, I dont follow your dry humor, Im a Wenatchee H.S. grad, lived in the city most of my life, purchased a home in Douglas county. I shop a lot in Wenatchee and once in a great while go to the TTC. However I do root for the stability and economic viability of Wenatchee and the surrounding area, I am not one to put down every living thing that comes along about the TTC, as that would make no sense as we need Wenatchee and our surrounding area to be stable. I could live in New York it would make no difference.
