100 years ago — 1912
• Arrangements have been made by the entertainment committee of the YMCA to produce the comic opera “H.M.S. Pinafore” at the Wenatchee opera house in the near future. Martin Robinson of Chicago, who has produced many operas throughout the Northwest, has been hired as director. A cast of some of the best singers has been selected and rehearsals are being held every evening.
• Z.A. Lanham has been selected as chairman of the Chelan County Progressive Central Committee.
• Attorney Fred Kemp has moved his law offices from the Commercial Bank & Trust building to the Halbert block.
50 years ago — 1962
• Cashmere High School will be bidding for its third consecutive championship in the North Central Washington fall tennis league. Bulldog boys’ coach Roger Barnhart has a veteran team, including seniors Ed Mohs and Grif Davies; juniors Paul Moss, Steve Nash, Jerry Van Winkle and Ed Flagel; and sophomores Tom Wilson, Armen Odabashian, Clarke Meredith, Ed Schneider and Bob Paine. The girls’ squad includes seniors Voski Chakirian and Peggy Marker; juniors Candi Chakirian, Judy Paton, Ann Burbank, Connie Kerr, Mary Jane Coulthard and LaRene Halbert; sophomores Tondy Moss, Kathy Kingman, Thayer Moody and Bernadine Hunter; and freshmen Diana Cage, Cindy Brooks, Marla Fischer and Pat Cope.
• Mrs. Victor E. Richardson is the newly elected president of the North Central Washington Home Economics Association.
25 years ago — 1987
• New officers were elected at a recent meeting of the Central Patriotic Council. Dale Walters, commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 902, was elected commander of the council. Dara Grina, president of the VFW Auxiliary Post No. 3617, was named secretary-treasurer.
• Members of the Sunnyside-Up Club of International Training in Communication have elected their officers for the coming year. They are Doris Robson, president; Phyllis Zufall, vice president; and Aris Frederick, secretary-treasurer. Sunnyside Up is part of Council III, which consists of clubs from Moses Lake, Yakima and Wenatchee. Council III officers are Jerry Jones, president; Barbara Harris, secretary; and Sandra Garrett, treasurer. Goals for the organization include leadership training and improving communication skills.

Under "100 years ago" you mention a "Wenatchee Opera House". Is the building still here? If not, where was it and are there any details about it such as size, crowd capacity, what other shows were there, etc. Any old show schedules still around?
