QUINCY — A Quincy bus carrying about 30 students was involved in a minor injury collision this afternoon, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office reports.
A few children on the bus suffered minor injuries, said Sheriff’s Office spokesman Kyle Foreman.
The 4 p.m. crash involved one other vehicle and occurred at Road 11 NW and Road S NW, West of Quincy.
The Quincy School District had notified parents of all students involved by 5 p.m., according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office.
Many children on the bus were being transferred to another bus, but a few with minor injuries were being transported by ambulance to the Quincy Valley Medical Center.
“Children on the bus are either uninjured or have minor injuries,” the release said. “Deputies, ambulances and EMTs are on the scene taking care of your kids,” it said.
The driver of another vehicle involved in the collision also had minor injuries, the release said.
“It was a minor incident, and they have it under control,” Foreman said.
Last year, three Quincy children were seriously injured and several others suffered minor injuries when a Quincy School bus rolled over south of Quincy.
That accident occurred on the morning of March 12, with 39 students on the bus.
