MATTAWA — A Peshastin man was injured in a three-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon that left one person dead and another in critical condition.
Diego C. Cruz Gonzalez, 37, of Peshastin was in satisfactory condition Wednesday afternoon at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland. He was a passenger in a car driven by Mario D. Perez Gonzalez, 37, Sunnyside, according to a State Patrol report. Perez Gonzalez was in satisfactory condition at the Richland hospital.
Another passenger in the Perez Gonzalez’ vehicle was Guillermo F. Cruz Gonzalez, 39, Sunnyside, who was airlifted, in critical condition, to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Killed in the accident was Antonio A. Magana, 63, of Sunnyside, another passenger in the Perez Gonzalez vehicle.
Other drivers were Joseph M. Switzer, 40, of Maple Valley, who was released Wednesday from the Richland hospital, and Ryan D. Angle, 32, of West Richland, according to a State Patrol report. Angle was in satisfactory condition at the Richland hospital. Angle was also treated at the Richland hospital.
The vehicles collided on Highway 243 about 11 miles south of Mattawa, according to the State Patrol report.
