WVC softball: Knights post comeback victory, sweep Sasquatch

WENATCHEE — Marie Beagle started the season as a reserve outfielder for the Wenatchee Valley College softball team, and until recently, rarely played. Kinley Pope has been the team’s starting third baseman all season, but wasn’t allowed to hit on a full-time basis (the Knights used a designated player in her place) until about two weeks ago. On Saturday, the Knights found themselves in an unfamiliar position — they were losing late in the second game of their doubleheader against Community Colleges of Spokane. They found a way to rally and post a 3-1 win, partly due to the efforts of Pope and Beagle — two players that weren’t even in the Knights’ lineup earlier in the month.
