EAST WENATCHEE — An East Wenatchee woman had no idea her purse had been stolen from her dining room table while she slept, until she got a call from police Saturday morning asking if she had it. East Wenatchee Police Sgt. Bill Redfield said he called the woman after assisting Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies, who responded to a call from the 100 block of North Mary Street at about 5:15 a.m. A resident there called to report that someone he didn’t know had entered his house and asked for some drugs. The homeowner told him to get out, and then called deputies when he saw the man attempting to enter other homes in the area, said Sheriff Harvey Gjesdal.
