OLYMPIA — State officials say that Washington state’s job market in July continued to grow even as the unemployment rate saw a slight increase.

Numbers released Wednesday by the state Employment Security Department show that the unemployment rate for July was 6.9 percent, up from 6.8 percent the prior two months. However, the state added an estimated 8,800 jobs in July, and state economists revised June’s job growth of 9,800 up to 10,700 jobs.
