River Dogs rained out Saturday

CONVINGTON COUNTY, Ala. — The Columbia Basin River Dogs’ Babe Ruth World Series game against Mid County, Texas, scheduled for Saturday, was postponed due to rain.
The two teams will play at 8:30 a.m. today.
The River Dogs are 1-1 in pool play after suffering a 1-0 loss against Cape Cod, Mass., on Friday.
The single run of the game came in the bottom of the fifth inning on a wild pitch. Both teams had just three hits apiece. Eastmont’s Matt Sutherland accounted for one of the River Dogs’ hits.
“We certainly left our bats at home,” coach Randy Boruff said. “But good pitching shuts down good hitting, and our pitching’s been very good.”
