Robert L. “Bob” Hanson

January 6, 1934 ~ August 3, 2013

Robert L. “Bob” Hanson, age 79, passed away August 3, 2013, from complications of Parkinson’s disease at Mountain Meadows Assisted Living in Leavenworth, WA. Bob was born January 6, 1934 in Seattle, WA to parents, Jay and Dolly Hanson. Bob graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1952 and was voted outstanding athlete. He attended Wenatchee Jr. College on a football and basketball scholarship in 1952-53. He served in the military from 1954-56 and was in the 11th and 82nd Army Airborne Divisions.

In 1957, he married a classmate, Carol Chard, and they had three children, Terrie Scenard of Leavenworth, WA; Diana Hanson (deceased) and Michael Hanson of Des Moines, WA. He is survived by a brother, Gene Hanson of Ferndale, WA; and three grandchildren, Shaun Scenard of Knoxville, TN; Cara Scenard of Leavenworth, WA; and Nicole Hanson of Seattle, WA.

He lived in Edmonds, WA and was employed for 25 years as a driver-salesman for Adams News. He moved to Leavenworth in 1982 and worked for Stevens Pass in the winters for 15 years, where he ran their uniform and company store. During the summers, he worked at Leavenworth Golf Club, where he built and maintained flower beds. He retired in 1995 and spent many winters in Desert Center, CA.

Remembrances can be made to Mountain Meadows Assisted Living in Leavenworth, WA. There will be no services.
