NCW — The state is providing training for healthcare providers and community organizations that want to help people sign up for Medicaid under the new Affordable Care Act.
The Washington State Health Care Authority is sending people across the state, and has day-long sessions planned in Wenatchee on Aug. 30, and in Okanogan on Sept. 27.
The training focus on the new modified adjusted gross income policies that allow families, children and adults to qualify for Medicaid. It will enable clinics, hospitals and other organizations to determine who’s eligible, and how to sign them up.
Those who complete the full one-day course, pass a Washington State Patrol background check and sign a confidentiality statement will receive enhanced access to the Healthplanfinder to help applicants through the process.
Those wishing to sign up can register at http://www.hca.wa.gov and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org. Space is limited.
