Family and friends helped John Charles Dahlstrom mark his 100th birthday on Aug. 5 with a luncheon celebration at RiverWest Retirement Community in Wenatchee.
Dahlstrom was born Aug. 5, 1913, in Collins, Mont.
He married Irene Dahlstrom on Sept. 8, 1941, in Shelby, Mont. They moved to Wenatchee in 2010. She passed away in 2011. The couple have one daughter, Sherry Schweizer.
John Dahlstrom worked as a butcher in Cut Bank, Mont., and helped build the courthouse in Conrad, Mont. He worked the gold mines in Norris, Mont., before moving to California in 1942 to work in the shipyards. After a stint in the U.S. Army, he worked for Shell Oil Co., retiring after 29 years.
He has three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
