TWISP — The upper War Creek Road 4430-100, located west of Twisp, closed temporarily on Monday for repairs from damage during spring rains in 2011.
The road is closed at its intersection with Forest Road 4430 to the War Creek Trailhead, a news release from the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest said.
Several trailheads leading from the Twisp River drainage into the Lake Chelan Sawtooth Wilderness, Stehekin and the North Cascades National Park are impacted.
The repair work could take about a month, so anyone with planning trips in the area through late-September should plan alternate routes, the release said.
