WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee School Board approved a plan Tuesday evening to change the format of district board meetings to provide more information and attract more staff, parents and students.
The board will continue to meet at the school district office at 235 Sunset Ave. at 7 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of every month. Another meeting will be held the second week of the month, but will be of a longer workshop format and the time and place will be more flexible to accommodate more involved participants.
“The workshops will focus on our vision and strategies,” said Brian Flones, Wenatchee School District superintendent. The idea, he said, is to have teachers and administrators present information about how the strategies are working in their specific schools.
Flones said he’ll put together a list of workshop topics in the next couple of weeks. Workshop times and locations will be well posted ahead of time.
