Lori Reed, insurance agent for Mitchell, Reed and Schmitten, was elected treasurer of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of Washington State Association at a conference in Seattle last month.

Kristine S. Loomis, CPA, CVA was named the new managing partner of Cordell, Neher and Company Oct. 1. She succeeds Jeffery R, Neher, who was the managing partner for 20 years. Sean M. Patton, CPA was named a partner at the firm.

Josh Stendera, vice-president and manager of Cashmere Valley Mortgage recently completed a graduate-level educational program at Pacific Coast Banking School in Seattle. The program focused on leadership, risk management and performance in the financial services industry.

André Peters, a broker with Coldwell Banker LaVigne, attended the 80th annual Washington Realtors Education Conference and Trade Show Oct. 8-9 in Seattle.

Broker NormaJean Jessup has opened Jessup Real Estate in East Wenatchee. Mary Shaefer recently received her real estate licensing certification and has joined Jessup Real Estate.

Michael Hansen, MPT, ATC, OCS, Lyle McClune, MPT, ATC, OCS, Marci Peterson, MPT, OCS, Erik Dilling, PT, OCS, Mandy Cafmeyer, DPT, OCS, Kit Cammack, DPT, OCS, ATRIC, Carmen Dooley, PTA, Joe Marcoux, PTA and Stepahanie Purcell, PTA of Biosports Physical Therapy completed a “Manual Therapy/Clinical Reasoning and Skill Acquisition” course on the lumbar spine sacral iliac joint, presented by Kent Keyser, PT, MS, OCS, COMT, CFMt, FAAOMPT of Eugene, Ore. The course was held Sept. 20-22 at Biosports in Wenatchee.

Ed Womack, DVM and Courtney Wright, LVT, of Cascade Veterinary Clinic, recently attended the Wild West Veterinary Conference in Reno.

Lisa St. Claire, dental assistant, was named Dr. Cara’s Children’s Dentistry’s Employee of the Quarter for the third quarter. “Lisa always engages patients with her special charm, they look forward to seeing her and ask for her by name. She is excellent at building relationships and takes pride in her career.” states Dr. Cara Schroeder, Chief Smile Officer of Children’s Dentistry. Lisa was awarded a cash prize, a crystal recognition keepsake and employee “star” parking, at the practice’s recent team meeting.

Kamille Cummings of Cashmere, has earned her Instructor Certification through the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) International. She is employed at Alatheia Riding Center in Wenatchee as a certified instructor and works with children and adults in a therapeutic riding program.

Steven W. Woods of Woods & Brangwin law firm conducted a seminar for attorneys on changes in criminal defense as a result of the initiative legalizing marijuana in Washington Nov. 11-12. The Continuing Legal Education course was sponsored by Chelan-Douglas County Volunteer Attorney Services and was held at the Wenatchee Convention Center.

Natalie Bennett, owner of Lemongrass Natural Foods, recently attended the Natural Products NorthWest Education and Trade Show at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle.

Gordon Schuster, registered representative with New York Life and NYLIFE Securities, recently attended the President’s Council Conference in Las Vegas.

Dr. Tony Butruille of Cascade Medical Center in Leavenworth was recently awarded the 2012-2013 Professionalism Award by the University of Washington School of Medicine.
