WENATCHEE — Casa means home in Spanish. And for hundreds of children removed each year from abusive environments, CASA — Court Appointed Special Advocates — means a safe home and the volunteers who help them get there.
The goal is always to find safety in their own home and with their own families whenever possible. But sometimes safety comes in the form of a new home and new family. Whatever the end result, CASA volunteers are there to help children while the stressful, legal processes are worked out. Most are placed in temporary foster homes until their natural homes are made safe again. Some are taken in by relatives. Others bond with new families who will adopt them.
